Gurdwara Chhevin Patshahi

Description:

Gurdwara Chhevin Patshahi is a historic Sikh shrine in the Mozang area of Lahore associated with Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the Sixth Sikh Guru. Sikh historical accounts connect the site with Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji’s visit to Lahore in the early seventeenth century, preserving the memory of his presence in this part of the city.

A Gurdwara was later established at the site, with historical records attributing its early development to the period of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The building was reconstructed in 1926 through the efforts of Sardar Mehar Singh, and its management was subsequently overseen by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee until Partition in 1947.

The shrine suffered extensive damage over time, but restoration and rebuilding efforts by Lahore’s Sikh community have helped preserve the site. Recent heritage planning documents continue to identify Gurdwara Chhevin Patshahi on Temple Road as an important Sikh monument associated with Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.
