Historical accounts state that Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji stayed at this site while returning from <strong class=\"x7amdea\">Kashmir<\/strong> before continuing his journey toward <strong class=\"x7amdea\">Amritsar<\/strong>. The shrine preserves the memory of his presence in <strong class=\"x7amdea\">Amar Sidhu<\/strong> and forms part of the wider network of sacred places connected with the Sixth Guru in Lahore.<\/p><p class=\"x1yc453h xma8rkl xgoqxah xutxfr x1fie51u xgyxj25 x1xobyvs x1elgs31 x1fv8qjw xcy5tzr x1ht4adc xnvauns x1c2l018 x14l7nz5 xuw7688 x1pjt2rx x160d6zm xrxpjvj\" dir=\"ltr\">The site originally began as a simple memorial marking the place where Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji had rested. A larger Gurdwara complex was later developed in the early twentieth century through the efforts of the local Sikh community, with significant support from renowned engineer and philanthropist <strong class=\"x7amdea\">Sir Ganga Ram<\/strong>. Historical records describe a complex with a domed shrine, verandahs, marble flooring, langar facilities and accommodation for visiting pilgrims.<\/p><p class=\"x1yc453h xma8rkl xgoqxah xutxfr x1fie51u xgyxj25 x1xobyvs x1elgs31 x1fv8qjw xcy5tzr x1ht4adc xnvauns x1c2l018 x14l7nz5 xuw7688 x1pjt2rx x160d6zm xrxpjvj\" dir=\"ltr\">After Partition in 1947, the shrine fell into disuse and remained inaccessible to the Sikh community for decades. The building deteriorated over time and parts of its land were encroached upon.
