Mian Mir was a prominent seventeenth-century saint of the <strong class=\"x7amdea\">Qadiri Sufi order<\/strong> who spent much of his life in Lahore and became known for his devotion, humility and distance from political power. Later Sikh accounts also preserve the widely cherished tradition that Guru Arjan invited Mian Mir to lay the foundation stone of <strong class=\"x7amdea\">Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar<\/strong>.
